Craftsmanship at Scale
We pride ourselves on the quality of the bike and bin stores we supply to developers.
Our business has grown and thrives because of our reputation with retail customers. Household customers tell their neighbours, friends and family about the quality of our products, our attention to detail and our customer service. So over the years a large proportion of our sales of bin and bike stores have come from referrals. Of course these attributes are just as important to larger customers. So increasingly we’re finding a market with developers who value the skill and craftsmanship we bring to each unit.
Bike Stores for Developers
In a recent project Backhouse Housing commissioned us to provide storage to a development of 41 new houses. The client wanted each property to have storage for bikes, bins and recycling boxes. And for the stores to match the design of the wider development. Their aim was to enhance their offer to prospective purchasers by increasing the livability of the homes. Everyone loves extra storage!
We designed our stores to fit into existing brick enclosures and topped the recycling stores with planters to bring greenery and to soften the design. We used Douglas fir to bring durability and good looks. And we worked with the developer to improve the design, proposing that we add slatted backs to the bin stores to protect residents’ bikes from the brickwork and to allow air-flow. This made the units usable and long lasting without impacting the budget.
Satisfied Customer
We’re equipped to handle large scale installations, but on this project the client wanted to install the units themselves. So we built and assembled each unit at our Bristol workshop to check for quality. And then disassembled and shipped them flat-pack to site for the client team to reassemble and install. Throughout the project we worked closely with the client to make sure we were meeting the design brief and were aligned with the project timetable. Everything was delivered on time and to budget and client feedback was very positive.
