Our mission is to provide high quality and secure wooden bike storage. To do that, it is necessary for us to collect some information from our customers. We only use this information where we have a proper legal basis for doing so.
We have written this policy to help you understand what information we collect, how we use it and what choices you have about it. We welcome your questions and comments on this policy.
We collect information in a few different ways:
1. When you give it to us or give us permission to obtain it
When you email us or fill out and submit the contact form on our website, you give us certain information voluntarily. This includes your name, address, email address, phone number and any other information you give us.
If you place an order with us we collect payment information, details relating to your property, details of what you have ordered from us and images and dimensions of the intended shed location.
We retain records of both unaccepted quotes and completed orders of our clients. This can include details relating to a completed project such as quotes, invoices, site information plus any plan view or elevation drawings of the product provided.
This information is used to process your enquiry or order, and ensure your project is treated fairly and reduce the risk of mistakes occurring.
2. We also receive technical information when you visit our website
Whenever you use a website, mobile application or other internet service, certain information gets created and logged automatically. The same is true when you visit www.thebikeshedshedcompany.com. Here are some of the types of information we collect:
Cookie data. The website collects data temporarily via cookies. These are to assist the user in viewing functions of the website more easily.
Device information. We also have access to information about the device you’re visiting the website on, including type of device, operating system, location and how you use the site.
We use the information we collect to provide a service to you, and use it in a variety of ways:
To identify you when you contact us regarding a live order or quote
Match any payments made to your order to create an audit trail and maintain accuracy of accounting practices.
Respond to your questions or comments
Understand our position in the market, and our demographic
Develop our product offering in a way that is relevant
From time to time we may decide to embark on a small marketing campaign. We use the demographic information available to us to:
Create adverts that are more likely to be relevant and of interest to the recipient. We use Pinterest and Facebook’s own tools to form campaigns targeted towards audiences that closely match our existing client profile. This reduces the risk of people receiving our adverts that are unlikely to be in need of a bike shed or other wooden garden structure.
Monitor the success of the advert, and make any necessary changes to increase the response.
Choices you have about your information that we hold:
We are required by law to retain records of any payments you have made, and what those payments were for. Upon request we are happy to provide you with a copy of these records, which can include quotes, invoices or account statements.
We retain records of both unaccepted quotes and completed order history of our clients. This can include details relating to a completed project such as quotes, invoices, site information plus any plan view or elevation drawings of the product provided. Upon request we will delete any personal details of our clients after 5 years.
