The Pedalbase is our most popular bike shed. We offer it either with a high quality and convenient lifting lid, or with a green roof.

With a hinged, lifting lid you can step into the shed, making it easy to lift and move the bikes.

Lifting the lid is made easy with strong gas struts that also hold it securely open – even in high winds! When closed the lid plays a vital part in the shed’s security, enclosing the tops of the doors to thwart thieves.

We also offer green roofs, sometimes called living roofs. And we do it for the same price.

Here the focus is on bringing natural colour to your front garden. Green roofs add a dash of extra biodiversity to your driveway. Attractive to insects and birds, they don't just look good, they are good!

And as if that wasn't enough, green roofs help soak up sudden downpoars, releasing water more slowly onto your driveway and the street and helping in a small way to prevent city flooding.

Lifting Lids, Easy Access

Our bike shed lids lift up and stay in place supported by gas struts. You shouldn't have to crouch or kneel to get your bikes out!

Can shelves be added to a Pedalbase Shed?

With the low profile lid, shelves can’t be added above the bikes but they can be added at each end of the shed above the bike wheels of the bikes. (The shelves are height adjustable to accommodate different sized bikes, or ones with baskets or pannier racks.) We can also supply hooks which can be placed in any empty space to maximise storage possibilities!
I have a manhole cover where I want to position the shed – will this be a problem?

Although a manhole is only accessed once in a blue moon, it is important that it can be reached. Often we can create a hatch or access panel so that moving the shed isn’t required. It depends on the exact position but we’ll do our best to amend a design to accommodate this access issue.
