Terms and Conditions

Application:

These Terms and conditions will apply to the purchase and supply of goods or services to you (the ‘client’ or ‘end user’).

By ordering any goods or services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Interpretation:

The Company / Us – Bristol Timber Manufacturing Ltd, trading as The Bike Shed Company

Client – The individual or entity placing the order, regardless of their relationship with the end user.

End User- The person(s) who will ultimately own and use the goods.

Goods – Any item made or supplied by us

Services – Any accompanying product of an intangible nature. Includes but not limited to design work, installation and delivery.

Project – The undertaking of all elements required to create and supply goods to the end user

Site – The intended location for the goods to be installed

Goods:

  • The goods supplied will conform to the description in the quote, the invoice and any referenced drawings. Where the requirements evolve during the specification and ordering process, the goods will be supplied according to the details in the latest quote or invoice and the most recent version of any drawings produced.
  • Any other description of the goods as set out on the website, in email communication or elsewhere are intended to be representative of the intended product however minor variations in design, size and colour may occur.
  • The colour of the shed as displayed on the website is a digital representation and may differ from the actual product due to variations in screen settings, lighting, and other factors. The actual colour of the shed may vary from what is seen online.
  • Where a bespoke colour match is ordered we endeavour to offer the best possible match based on the information provided by the client. However, this service is not perfect, and some colour variation is possible.
  • It is the company’s responsibility to ensure that the product(s) supplied have the storage capacity specified at the time of purchase. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the storage capacity is adequate for their requirements.
  • We retain the right to alter or amend the design of our goods to comply with any applicable law, and to improve quality or production but not in such a way as to reduce storage capacity without prior approval from the client.
  • When goods are made to a client's specific requirements, it is the client's responsibility to provide all requested information, ensuring that such information is accurate and clear.
  • The company reserves the right to pause or suspend work on a project, including design and production, until all critical information is provided by the client. Any delays or additional costs resulting from the lack of such information will be the client’s responsibility.
  • Clients may request alterations to their project, which the company will endeavour to accommodate, subject to design or site limitations and the availability of bespoke elements. Any alteration request may result in extended lead times and increased costs. Any additional costs or time extensions will be discussed with the client before either party commits to these changes.
  • Alteration requests cannot be accommodated once an install or delivery date has been agreed.

Services:

  • We will deliver or install the goods on the specified date as agreed unless prevented by circumstances beyond our control.
  • On occasions where the company supplies goods on a delivery only basis
    • Delivery can be made either by our own staff or by a third party at the discretion of the company.
    • The client understands that they are responsible for the assembly of the goods and will be provided by the company with instructions on how to undertake this.
    • We only deliver to the kerbside unless by prior agreement.
  • On occasions where the company supplies goods on the basis of delivery and installation
    • We can only transport the goods to the front garden or the back garden where access through the property is not required and the total distance to carry the goods is less than 30 meters, unless by prior agreement.
    • We reserve the right to not carry out an installation if on arrival the installation team discover that the site is not ready as defined in our prior communications, if the site poses a risk to the health or safety of our staff or if inadequate or incorrect information has been provided which complicates or significantly changes the work and nature of the required work. In such cases an additional installation fee will be applied for the team to return on an alternative date.
  • Cancellation of an agreed installation or delivery within 7 days of the date is fully chargeable at the company’s discretion.

Basis of Sale

  • All quotes are valid for up to 3 months from their date of issue unless otherwise specified.
  • Quotes and invoices are for the listed items only and do not include items that may have been discussed but are not noted on the quotation.
  • Rough estimates for delivery/installation of goods will be given at point of order, with a firm date only being available 2-4 weeks prior to supply.
  • Lead times for supply of goods can vary, but all efforts will be made by the company to keep clients informed of any alterations to the expected supply schedule.
  • The company will not be held responsible for any incorrect measurements provided by the client. If goods need to be returned to the workshop for amendment following incorrect measurements on site, the client understands they will incur any additional charges for this including for a new installation date and for any changes to the product at full normal price.

Price and Payment

  • Prices for standard range items are priced as per our website, quotes and invoices. Any bespoke goods will be priced based on the individual project.
  • Payment is to be made in full at the point of order. Once payment has been received, the order will be placed into our production schedule.

Cancellation Policy

  • Once an initial payment has been taken a £120 administrative cancellation fee applies.
  • Refunds cannot be given once an installation date has been agreed.
